Liverpool will feel some kind of deja vu this weekend as they face Brighton just three days after their meeting in the Carabao Cup. 

The two teams met on Wednesday night when Liverpool won 3-2 against the Seagulls in a game where Cody Gakpo netted twice and Luis Diaz scored the Reds’ third goal after 85 minutes.

Arne Slot will be delighted that his side was able to get into the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup with their ninth win in their last 10 games.

This weekend they face Brighton again in the Premier League at Anfield as they look to overtake league leaders Manchester City who sit one point ahead of the Reds and face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

Both Diogo Jota and Federico Chiesa will be unavailable for Arne Slot on Saturday which is a big blow seeing as especially Jota has been very impressive so far this season.
