Liverpool Vs Wolves: Match Preview And Injury News

Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp will be looking to get their season back on the rails when they take on Wolves at Anfield on Wednesday evening.

The Reds will be without Luis Diaz and Thiago for the game against the midlands team – additionally, Arthur, Joe Gomez, Ibrahima Konate and Darwin Nunez are all doubts.

Diaz and Thiago will likely return to action in early-to-mid March. Klopp is ‘hopeful’ that Nunez will be fit to play, but it looks uncertain at this stage.

On Nunez’s injury, Klopp said: “Darwin, we have to see. It’s the shoulder. It looked OK yesterday but some people will tell me how he reacts.”

Konate could be set for a return against Wolves, but Joe Gomez and Arthur are likely to miss out – Arthur is lacking match fitness, while Joe Gomez continues to recover from his muscle injury.

In their last Premier League outing, Liverpool played out a dour 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace. It was a poor display from both teams – Liverpool were unable to breach Palace’s low block, while the Eagles failed to register a shot on target in response.

Wolves, meanwhile, picked up a point on the road against Fulham in their previous league fixture. They led in the first half through Pablo Sarabia, but had to settle for a point when the Cottagers drew levels thanks to a strike from Manor Solomon.

The two teams met back on February 4, where Wolves ran out as 3-0 victors. Goals from Craig Dawson, Ruben Neves and an own goal from Joel Matip were enough to sink the Reds – can they gain a modicum of revenge in the reverse fixture?
