Liverpool ‘won’t be far’ from the Premier League title next year says former Red forward

Liverpool ‘won’t be far away’ from the Premier League title if they sign one of two more players this summer, insists former Reds forward Craig Bellamy.

Jurgen Klopp’s side finished fourth last season and reached the final of the Champions League, where they lost out to Real Madrid 3-1.

Keen to improve upon last season, the Reds have already had a hugely busy transfer window, spending over £150 million to bring Naby Keita, Fabinho, Xherdan Shaqiri and goalkeeper Alisson to Anfield.

And Bellamy, who had two spells on merseyside with Liverpool, first in 2006/07 and then in 2011/12, believes one or two more good additions and Klopp and his side will be pushing Mahchester City all the way for the Premier League title next term.

“Liverpool need just one or two more players,” said the Welshman.

“I’m not saying they’re going to go and win the league off the back of that but they won’t be far away.”
