Liverpool’s Predicted XI To Face Tottenham: 433 With Milner In And Wijnaldum Missing Out

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp really only has selection dilemmas over two starting spots ahead of tonight’s Champions League final.

The back four has largely stayed the same in recent months, but the competition for places in midfield and doubts over Roberto Firmino’s fitness mean the Reds boss does have some decisions to make:

Defence

Alisson will start in goal while Joel Matip will almost certainly be given the nod ahead of Dejan Lovren and Joe Gomez in the centre of defence. The Cameroon centre-back has been in good form in recent months.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson will be picked as the fullbacks following some excellent recent performances.

Midfield

Fabinho will likely be chosen in the number six role so four players will be competing for the other two spots in the midfield. Captain Jordan Henderson is likely to get one, while the other will go to either James Milner or Georginio Wijnaldum.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is fit but Klopp is highly unlikely to start him after so long out of the team. The Liverpool manager may opt for the experience of Milner in the final, after having picked him in 13 of the 14 European games this campaign.

Striker

Roberto Firmino hasn’t started a match since the 2-0 win against Cardiff at the back end of April, but Klopp has confirmed that the Brazilian is fit to start.

Roberto Firmino

The forward is integral to how the Reds play so it’s very likely he’ll be picked ahead of Divock Origi up front, alongside Sadio Mane and Mo Salah.
