Liverpool’s Transfer Stance Revealed After Ben Jacobs Claims That The Reds Have Been “Offered” 7 Goal PL Forward

Liverpool are “not interested” in signing Brighton forward Leandro Trossard despite being “offered” the player, according to CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs.

The Belgian’s agent is said to be contacting potential suitors ahead of the January transfer window but Jacobs says the winger won’t be making the move to Anfield:

“Trossard at Brighton is being put in the shop window by his agent. He’s been offered to Manchester United, he’s been offered to Liverpool and he’s been offered to Chelsea. Liverpool are not interested.”

Trossard certainly impressed when he came up against the Reds earlier in the season, bagging a hat-trick in the 3-3 draw at the start of last month. He has scored seven league goals in total this campaign.

However, his preference is to play off the wings, which is not an area of the pitch that manager Jurgen Klopp is really short of options in.

With Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz on the left, and Mo Salah playing (pretty much) every game on the right-hand side, it would be difficult to see where Trossard would get game time.

Resources may be better spent on financing a move for a player like Trossard’s teammate, Moises Caicedo, who could strengthen the club’s numbers in midfield.
