Loan Watch Liverpool Players Currently Out On Loan

While 2022/23 hasn’t gone the way many Liverpool fans might have hoped, there’s always positives to look at. For example, several Reds players are enjoying fruitful campaigns out on loan.

Who have been Liverpool’s best loan players this season?

Here’s a look at five of the best who manager Jurgen Klopp might be able to turn to in the near future.

Tyler Morton

First up is Tyler Morton, who is currently on loan at Blackburn Rovers in the Championship. It has been an eclectic campaign for Rovers, who find themselves in 8th position, despite the inconsistency of their performances.

Morton has been ever-present for Blackburn this season, playing in all 29 of their league games so far this year.

He’s proven himself to be an excellent passer, as well as providing an energetic presence in midfield. He’s yet to score a goal for Blackburn, but he does have two assists to his name.

Anderson Arroyo

One of two players in this list on loan at a foreign club, Anderson Arroyo currently finds himself out on loan at Deportivo Alaves in La Liga.

He’s mainly been a bench player for Alaves, only being handed eight starts so far. Additionally, he’s yet to score a goal or register an assist.

At 23, his developmental period is coming to a close – is he ready to provide a backup option for Trent Alexander-Arnold?

Leighton Clarkson

Currently on loan in the Scottish Premiership at Aberdeen, Leighton Clarkson is enjoying a very fruitful season at the Dons.

So far, he’s scored four goals and racked up two assists from midfield. A regular starter for Aberdeen, he has shown Liverpool what he’s capable of during this loan spell.

While Aberdeen aren’t enjoying a particularly positive season, Clarkson has been a ray of hope for the Reds this year.

Viteslav Jaros

Czech shot stopper Viteslav Jaros is currently out on loan at Stockport County. The only goalkeeper on this list, he’s perhaps best known for his cat-like reflexes.

At just 21, Jaros is very young for a goalkeeper – as such, he has plenty of time to develop and grow into a Premier League quality player.

While he enjoyed a run of games at the start of the season for County, he has since been replaced in the starting lineup by Ben Hinchliffe.

Sepp Van Den Berg

From an objective standpoint, Sepp Van Den Berg is probably the best player that Liverpool have loaned out this season. Unfortunately, his campaign at was cut short due to a major ankle injury that has kept him out of action for four months now.

It’s unclear when he’ll make his return – Liverpool fans will be hoping it doesn’t affect his career trajectory, because the young Dutchman has shown signs of becoming an excellent defender.

He spent last season on loan too, where he played 45 games for Championship club Preston North End.
