Luis Suarez Speaks Out On Whether Liverpool Will Win The League This Season

Former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez says that the Reds are firm favourites to win their first league title in 30 years, following their excellent start to the season.

The Uruguayan came close to ending the drought in 2014 when he was at Anfield, but speaking about the club’s current crop of players, he can’t see them slipping up this time:

“It is difficult because the season is very long. But they have a nice advantage at the moment and with this current Liverpool side, it’s complicated (to imagine) them letting that slip.”

However, Suarez has warned Liverpool fans that Manchester City were able to make a comeback from a similar deficit last campaign:

“We all know how football is. They had a similar advantage at one stage last season and, in the end, Manchester City won the league.”

The 32-year-old obviously keeps an eye on the goings-on at his old club, but fans should not hold out any hope of the forward returning in the future.

Suarez has made it known that a move to the United States is his likeliest next destination. The Uruguayan international remains a first-team regular at Barca but he is closing in on the last eighteen months of his contract at the Camp Nou.
