Magic Mane Gets Deserving PFA Awards Nomination Following Massive March

With Liverpool still flying high in the Premier League just 1 point behind as they battle Manchester City for the title, it is no surprise that Sadio Mane has been nominated for the PFA Awards for March after his stellar run of performances for the club. Mane has actually bagged 11 goals in his past 12 games for club and country such has been his form.

Mane was instrumental in Liverpool’s form over the month of March where he put the club pretty much on his back taking responsibility and stepping up to deliver 3 key goals over the 4 matches. Mane is surely making the title challenge more bearable for his manager. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has previously revealed he can’t enjoy the title battle.

Crucially the form of Senegal international Mane has coincided with a spell where the usually reliable Mo Salah has not been scoring as much. The Egyptian king has not scored in 8 games across all competitions but with Sadio Mane stepping up Liverpool have still been scoring goals – 16 to be precise without Salah hitting the back of the net. Of course Salah is still delivering for the Reds as he was directly responsible for the winner vs Spurs on Sunday after he headed the ball back at the goal only for Lloris to parry it into his own net via Toby Alderweireld.

It’s hard to argue with the nomination of Mane and he should really just be given the PFA Award for March right now such was his level of performance.

Other nominations for the award include Leicester City’s midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, Manchester City’s former Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling, Crystal Palace’s right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Everton’s left back Lucas Digne and Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy.

Speaking in a recent interview Sadio Mane set the target for Liverpool for what he believes the Reds will need to do in their remaining 6 fixtures to clinch the title over rivals Manchester City who face Brighton next in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Winning all 6 games is a big ask starting with the game vs Southampton tonight at St Marys especially when you consider Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side have recently beaten Tottenham at home just as the Reds just managed to do this past Sunday.

While Mane believes Liverpool must win every game, he is in the form to lead Liverpool and we know Mo Salah will be scoring again sooner rather than later so there is no reason to doubt Liverpool have every chance of lifting what would be their first title since the 1989-90 season under Kenny Dalglish.

Liverpool have the chance to go 2 points ahead of Man City as the Citizens are busy playing Brighton in the FA Cup this weekend and won’t play in the League until Sunday April 14th.
