“Make No Excuses. Ever” – Henderson Makes Liverpool’s Ambitions Clear Ahead Of United Clash

Jordan Henderson and Virgil Van Dijk address the press

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson says there will be no excuses given if the Reds fail to lift the Premier League title this season.

The 28-year-old believes the Merseysiders require a laser-like focus on winning every single match between now and the end of the campaign:

“We have to have the attitude in each and every game that the priority is to win. It’s that simple. If you give yourself an excuse you’ll end up with nothing. We look for and make no excuses. Ever.’

Although it is an unrealistic ambition, if Liverpool do win every league game between now and the end of the season, they will be champions. They can also afford one draw in their next 12 matches and still finish top.

With Manchester City breathing down their necks and leading the table on goal difference, after having played one game more, Henderson knows that near perfection may be required in the run-in.

One of the biggest obstacles standing in their way will be Manchester United. If they pass the test at Old Trafford tomorrow, the Reds will certainly take the confidence from the result into their remaining fixtures this campaign.
