Manchester United V Liverpool: Team News And Betting Odds

Liverpool head into Sunday’s clash against Manchester United as the biggest favourites for a North-West derby in many years. The Reds head into the game 15 points ahead of their rivals in the table.

Their opponents have struggled under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer since a promising opening day win against Chelsea, and have a long injury list which will restrict their options this weekend.

In contrast, manager Jurgen Klopp will have Alisson (calf) and Joel Matip (knock) back in contention for the trip to Old Trafford, while Mo Salah is said to be winning his fitness battle to overcome an ankle injury.

Xherdan Shaqiri (calf) is, though, a major doubt while Nathaniel Clyne is still a way from making his comeback from a knee injury.

United have ten fitness concerns. Paul Pogba (foot) and David De Gea (groin) have effectively been ruled out by Solskjaer, along with Jesse Lingard (hamstring).

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (illness) and Anthony Martial (thigh) do have a chance of featuring on Sunday, as well as Luke Shaw (hamstring), Mason Greenwood (back) and Phil Jones (knock). Eric Bailly (knee) and Diogo Dalot (groin) are both unavailable.

The bookmakers have Liverpool as the favourites with Betway pricing them at 7/10 odds-on to win. A draw is currently 3/1 with William Hill while a United victory is 9/2 at Betfred.
