Mane Backing £52m Recruit To Do “Something Special” For Liverpool In Debut Campaign

Liverpool forward Sadio Mane is backing Naby Keita to make an instant impact in the Premier League this season.

The £52.75m signing from RB Leipzig has hit the ground since his arrival at Anfield, and his teammate believes there is a lot more to come from the 23-year-old:

“I think he brings plenty in our team and I think it’s also not easy for the new players to come into the Premier League but for him, he’s unbelievable.”

“He’s started great and we are here to help him more to get to his best and I am sure he will do something special here.”

Keita’s friendship with Mane has certainly helped the midfielder to settle in quickly at the Merseyside club. The pair first crossed paths at Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg back in 2014 before the Senegalese wide man moved to Southampton.

They renewed acquaintances after the Guinean international’s arrival in the summer, with the player thrown straight in at the deep end. He started the club’s first three league matches against West Ham, Crystal Palace and Brighton, but was benched for the away trip to Leicester with captain Jordan Henderson replacing him in the side.

Keita has adapted well to the pace and physicality of English football and Reds fans will no doubt be excited to see more of the dynamic midfielder over the coming weeks and months.
