Marco Asensio’s Transfer Stance Revealed As Liverpool Join Pursuit To Sign Real Star For 34M

Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio is looking for a club that “practically guarantees” him regular first-team football, according to AS.

The Madrid-based newspaper claims that Liverpool have joined the battle to sign the Spanish international after registering their interest with the player’s representatives.

However, the Reds’ chances of signing Asensio are said to be rather slim, due to the fact that they can’t offer the sort of game time he is requesting.

The 26-year-old has a year left on his contract at the Bernabeu and, while he is said to be in “no hurry” to sort out his future, Real are ready to let him leave for around €40m (£34m).

AC Milan are believed to be the other major suitor but AS say Asensio is not particularly interested in joining the Serie A champions, who won’t be able to afford his wages. Even if Liverpool aren’t favourities to sign the Spaniard, a move to the Premier League is seen the likeliest outcome due to his salary demands. Both Manchester United and Arsenal have also been credited with an interest in recent months so we shall see where he ends up.
