France star Kylian Mbappe has been full of praise for his international teammate Randal Kolo Muani.
The Eintracht Frankfurt forward has been in outstanding form this season, with the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea having been mentioned as potential suitors for the player in recent months. Asked about Muani, Mbappe said he had been impressed by his all-round game:
“He is a striker who offers different game options to our team. He is very complete and has an impressive volume of play. We are happy with the game he played on Friday and I hope he scores tomorrow. Tomorrow we will try to get him to score a goal.”
Reports in the German media have suggested that United are the team likeliest to make an offer for Muani during the summer transfer window, with it being claimed that the 24-year-old could cost a staggering €120m (£105m).
For that price, it is highly unlikely that Liverpool would get involved. For starters, manager Jurgen Klopp already has plenty of forward options available to him. On top of that, the Reds have priorities in other areas of the pitch, specifically in midfield, so shelling out a nine-figure sum on a striker is not something that would be considered.
