AC Milan have scheduled a meeting with the agent of Franck Kessie for tomorrow, as they try to break an impasse in contract negotiations, according to reports in Italy

The Ivorian’s current deal expires at the end of the season, with Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal having all been linked with the midfielder in recent weeks.

In fact, the Reds are said to be prepared to pay Kessie around €7m a year (approximately £115,000 a week) to make the switch to Anfield, which is putting pressure on Milan to up their own contract offer.

The Rossoneri were initially only prepared to pay the 24-year-old €4m a year, but it appears that they may now get close to matching the player’s demands.

Kessie himself has already spoken out about wanting to stay at the San Siro so Liverpool’s chances of securing his signature were always slim at best, and there is also a good chance that the midfielder’s agent has simply used the Merseyside club’s name in order to get his client a sizeable salary increase.
