Liverpool did consider making a move for Leeds forward Patrick Bamford in the summer, according to reports in the UK.
However, the Reds’ interest did not go very far after it emerged that the England international was not too keen on being a squad player.
Supporters on Twitter feel that, despite scoring 17 league goals for Leeds last season, Bamford would not have been the right fit for the club:

Patrick bamford is not on Liverpool's level. He is not good enough .

Having watched him for 2 seasons in the Championship I don’t think he’s good enough – neither do a fair few Leeds fans either.

He’s 28, him signing wouldn’t make any sense

Bamford turned 28 earlier this month so it is a surprise that Liverpool even considered pursuing the striker, considering they usually go after players below the age of 25.
However, it may be the case that manager Jurgen Klopp was the instigator in the club’s pursuit. The Reds boss publicly praised the Englishman last campaign and his endorsement may have led to an enquiry.
As it turned out, though, the Merseyside club decided against bringing in a forward, and it remains to be seen whether that will come back to bite them.
