Loudmouth pundit Alan Brazil has urged Liverpool to sell Mohamed Salah after reports emerged of a potential £215 million transfer bid from Al-Ittihad [via TalkSPORT].
Brazil says that the amount offered is too good to turn down – saying it is ‘an amazing amount for a 31-year-old’. Salah turned 31 years of age back in June.

Speaking on TalkSPORT, Brazil said: “If it was £215 million, [as] Liverpool owners said, ‘I’m sorry but we can’t turn that down. It’s ridiculous, we can’t turn it down.’
“They can’t buy anyone at the moment, but that’s an amazing amount for a 31-year-old. You look at Declan [Rice] and he’s left West Ham. West Ham are doing fine, aren’t they?”
Should Liverpool sell Mohamed Salah for the amount offered?
Salah’s importance to the Liverpool team cannot be overstated – but when figures such as £215 million are being thrown around, it is difficult to turn money like that down.
Should Salah be sold for that amount, it would make him the most expensive footballer in history – beating out the existing world record transfer fee, when Neymar moved to PSG for £189 million.
Additionally, Brazil also makes a good point (a broken clock is right twice a day). People feared for West Ham United when they sold Declan Rice to Arsenal – nevertheless, the Hammers invested the transfer fee wisely and have made improvements to the squad in the England international’s absence.
Generally, Liverpool’s recruitment is very good (with a few misses here and there). We would trust them to rebuild the team sensibly if Salah were to be sold – but there is more than just the squad to consider in this scenario.
Salah is incredibly popular with the Liverpool massive – flogging him to the Saudi Pro League could spark a major outrage within a fanbase who already do not think very highly of the existing hierarchy.
Moreover, manager Jurgen Klopp has also made his stance clear – he does not want Salah to leave the club. If the Egyptian superstar leaves the club, with Klopp following him out of the exit door in protest, it could create the perfect storm in Merseyside.
