Murphy Praises “Bang At It” Liverpool Star After Scintillating Display Against Arsenal

Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy was full of praise for Roberto Firmino after his performance in the 3-1 win against Arsenal yesterday evening.

Mo Salah may have stolen the headlines after scoring twice but his fellow forward was equally good, according to Murphy, who he believes has started the season in superb fashion:

“Mo Salah was great wasn’t he, and Firmino today, he looks bang at it, but you (Arsenal) can’t defend like that.”

Firmino struggled at the back end of last season due to injury and wasn’t at his best in the Champions League final versus Tottenham. However, after winning the Copa America with Brazil in the summer, the 27-year-old has returned to his best.

The Brazilian international’s link-up play and pressing was a sight to see, and if he continues performing to such a high standard, he’ll certainly score more than the 16 he scored last season.

The win against the Gunners means the Reds now have the only 100% record in the league and Firmino’s side will be hoping to make it four wins from four when they face Burnley next weekend.
