Liverpool are planning to give Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain a one-year contract extension, according to reports in the English media.
The 25-year-old’s current deal expires in 2022, but the Reds want to reward the midfielder after recovering from a long-term knee injury.
Supporters on Twitter would be happy if Oxlade-Chamberlain extends his stay at Anfield:

Again right thing to do. Klopp made this club propper. Things like that have to be done even after his gone. Run the club properly.

There’s always a concern when offering a contract extension to a player who has had a history of injury problems in the past, but the medical staff must be happy with Oxlade-Chamberlain’s long-term fitness for this deal to be approved.
When fit, there’s no doubt that the former Arsenal player adds a new dimension to the midfield, and hopefully, now he is back to full fitness, he can offer the team something different in the last few weeks of the season.
Fans may only see the best of him next campaign when he has had a full pre-season, but they are certainly happy that he is back in the first-team fold for the run-in.
