Neil Jones Reveals Liverpool Are Admirers Of Chelsea Loanee Who Has Been Labelled The New John Terry

Liverpool would be interested in signing Chelsea centre-back Levi Colwill, according to Goal reporter Neil Jones.

The reliable journalist claims the 20-year-old (who is currently on loan at Brighton) is “admired” by members of the Reds’ recruitment staff. However, he believes a move for Colwill is likely to be a “non-starter” considering the rivalry between the two teams:

It should be pointed out, though, that Liverpool are expected to discuss a possible move for Mason Mount so there is no reason to completely rule out a bid for Colwill as well.

While the defender (who has been compared to a young John Terry) is expected to return to Stamford Bridge this summer, his future is shrouded in uncertainty.

Chelsea recruited a left-footed centre-half in Benoit Badiashile from Monaco in January. They have reportedly also revived their interest in RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol. If the Croatian also makes the switch to London, the writing could be on the wall for Colwill.
