Paris Saint-Germain did contact Liverpool about signing Mo Salah last summer, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist claims that the Ligue One side were looking at possible replacements for Kylian Mbappe but they were told by the Reds, in no uncertain terms, that Salah wasn’t for sale:
“Paris Saint-Germain were looking at this possibility (of signing Salah) earlier this summer, if they had the chance to sell Mbappe to Real Madrid. They were prepared to do something big and they wanted to try for Mo Salah. Liverpool had no intention to open any talks so it was just an idea.”
Supporters on Twitter don’t believe PSG would have a chance of signing Salah anyway:

Salah plays in the best league in the world by far, why would you want to move to such a Three horse league or PSG, to play with Messi and Neymar in their twilight years. Equally I cannot imagine him doing it for Mbappe

Romano does goes on to say that Salah “loves” Liverpool so it is really down to the club to get their act together and agree a new contract with the player.
Salah is reportedly demanding between £300,000 and £400,000 a week, which would put his earnings in line with the likes of Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne. However, the Reds are believed to be somewhat concerned that if they do offer the 29-year-old what he is asking for, it could break the wage structure in the squad. We shall see how this story develops.
