Neville Rates Liverpool And Chelsea’s Top Four Chances Following Setback For United

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville fears Manchester United could be dragged into a battle for a top-four finish with Liverpool and Chelsea following their drab 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace last night.

The stalemate means the Red Devils are seven points ahead of Liverpool, but they have played a game more, and Neville is worried that their lacklustre performances could bring them back towards Jurgen Klopp’s side and Chelsea:

“If you’re Liverpool or Chelsea watching that, who play [tonight], you’re thinking you’re in with a right chance because they looked leggy. They’ve just got to be careful, they’ve got to be more alert to what’s happening because they are going to end up in a top-four race if they’re not careful.”

With Liverpool’s form having been so poor in recent months, it is hard to gauge whether they will be able to finish the season strongly. Clinching a Champions League place is the goal, and if they can manage to overhaul United in second, that would be seen as a tremendous achievement, considering what has gone on.

To move themselves closer to United in the table, though, they will need to get the three points when they face Chelsea at Anfield this evening.
