“No Doubt…” Milner Names The Liverpool Player He Believes Will Reach The Very Top

Liverpool vice-captain James Milner firmly believes that teammate Darwin Nunez has all the attributes to be a world-class player.

The Uruguayan international has had a mixed start to life at Anfield, following his £85m move from Benfica, but Milner believes the striker will overcome any early teething problems:

“He’s got everything to score a lot of goals at Liverpool. He’s come to a new country, he can’t speak too much English yet. He’s a great lad, some of the banter he is having, he’s learning English. People underestimate how difficult it is. It’s the same sport, but you’re moving your family, it’s a different language, different food, weather. It’s a big step, but the attributes he has, finishing, both feet, in the air, he works his nuts off. He will be top, no doubt about that.

Despite some of the criticism he has received, Nunez’s goal return since arriving in England has been quite impressive, bagging nine goals in his first eighteen appearances.

There are some question marks about the 23-year-old’s technical ability, with the forward having had a number of poor first touches as well as making some errant passes.

However, as Milner mentions, Nunez’s finishing ability off either foot is exemplary, while he possesses the work rate and physicality to be extremely effective in the Premier League.

He will undoubtedly be looking to press on after the World Cup and make a big impact for the Reds in the second half of the season.
