Liverpool are in “regular contact” with Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe, according to L’Equipe.
The French newspaper claims that Real Madrid are the Reds’ main competitor in the battle to sign the 21-year-old, who will have just two years left on his contract at Paris Saint-Germain next summer.
It would likely take a world record bid to sign Mbappe, even he was interested in moving to Anfield, and most supporters on Twitter are very sceptical about the Premier League champions being linked with the forward:
No harm in trying. Bid up the price for Real so they can’t poach Mané. Or come to a three way deal.

doesn't make sense Liverpool are not going to pay 200 million for a player who's injury prone and temperamental must be his agent putting this out there.☹️

Can u really see FSG paying 200mil for him because that’s how much PSG will want with still 2 years on his deal as much as he wants to leave and then we will lose Mane or Salah or both to pay for him ain’t happening he will go to Real Madrid where his always wanted to go

This could happen because it isn't just a signing its a investment a business partnership
Mbappe would double our shirt sales, triple our sponsorships, increase brand popularity by 100% and increase our tv viewership and thus double our clubs value

The likeliest possibility is that Mbappe’s representatives are trying to put pressure on PSG to give the player an improved deal by leaking information about interest to the French press.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has actually gone on record in the past about a move for Mbappe, stating it would be almost impossible for any club in the world to sign him considering how much he would cost.
