‘Not Too Far FC’ ‘Probably Out For Another Month’ Fans Frustrated As Klopp Provides Cryptic Answer On Liverpool Star’s Fitness

Anfield Stadium

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has continued to be less than forthcoming about the fitness of midfielder Thiago Alcantara.

The Spaniard injured his knee in the Merseyside derby in October and he has spent the last month on the sidelines, and when asked about the injury, Klopp said the player is not back in team training and he is unsure as to when he may return:

“Thiago is not in team training yet. When will he be in team training? I don’t know. We will see. I’m as surprised as the public. In the morning I come in, we have a medical meeting and they tell me ‘yes he is in, he is not’. I know it’s not too far anymore (for Thiago), but I have no idea.”

Supporters on Twitter were not particularly pleased with Klopp’s answer on Thiago, with some even believing that the Reds are hiding a major injury:

Some reports have suggested that there is hope that the 29-year-old will be back in action this weekend when Liverpool take on Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex. From the look of things, though, there is very little hope that he’ll play against Atalanta tomorrow night, which means a reshuffle in midfield following Naby Keita’s injury.

Currently, Klopp has just three fit central midfielders at his disposal in Georginio Wijnaldum, Curtis Jones and James Milner.
