Nunez And Matip To Start, Firmino Out: Liverpool’s Predicted XI To Face Fulham

Liverpool will be looking to get off to a flying start when they travel to face newly-promoted Fulham on Saturday afternoon.

Alisson is expected to return in goal after missing the Community Shield final. Joel Matip is likely to continue partnering Virgil van Dijk in the middle of the defence, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson as the two fullbacks.

In midfield, manager Jurgen Klopp could keep the same trio that started the match against Manchester City last weekend. There could be a temptation to play Fabio Carvalho against his old club but captain Jordan Henderson, Thiago Alcantara and Fabinho are all in line to retain their places.

Up front, Darwin Nunez’s impact after coming on in the Community Shield means the Uruguayan could be handed his first competitive start this weekend. Roberto Firmino would be the favourite to make way, with Luis Diaz and Mo Salah expected to stay in the starting eleven.

Liverpool’s Predicted XI To Play Fulham:

Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago, Salah, Nunez, Diaz
