Nunez And Matip To Start, Henderson And Elliott On The Bench: Liverpool’s Predicted XI To Face Wolves

Disappointment about Liverpool’s defeat to Brighton in the FA Cup last weekend was compounded by the news that Ibrahima Konate is now sidelined for a few weeks with a muscular injury.

Despite the loss of the Frenchman, manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed at his press conference ahead of the Wolves game that the likes of Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino, Luis Diaz and Virgil van Dijk are closing in on a return to fitness.

They won’t be available for the trip to Molineux this weekend, though. Alisson will start in goal, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson as the two fullbacks. Joel Matip is expected to replace Konate, with Joe Gomez partnering him in the centre of defence.

Klopp is likely to keep the midfield trio of Stefan Bajcetic, Naby Keita and Thiago together, with captain Jordan Henderson and Fabinho missing out once again.

Darwin Nunez should be fit enough to start, so he could replace Harvey Elliott, despite the teenager’s goal against Brighton last time out, with Mo Salah and Cody Gakpo making up the rest of the eleven.

Liverpool’s Predicted XI To Play Wolves:

Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Gomez, Robertson, Keita, Bajcetic, Thiago, Salah, Nunez, Gakpo
