Liverpool are one of three teams interested in Inter Milan centre-back Alessandro Bastoni, according to reports in the Italian media.
Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also looking at the 21-year-old, who has impressed whilst helping the Nerazzurri to the top of the league table.
The Reds are said to be willing to part ways with €50m (£43m) to sign Bastoni in the summer, but fans on Twitter are sceptical whether the Premier League champions would stump up that kind of money:

Well unless we are selling Gomez and not buying Kabak then makes sense, but Kabak has the potential to be our centre half for the next 15 years if he keeps playing like he does

We need a CB who can stay fit for long periods along side Van Dijk. This guy could be thay guy

There is no way we will be spending £43m on this guy when they can get Calleta Car for half that price!
We need possibly two CBs, two midfielders, and a CF. And a couple of squad options to replace the likes of Shaq.
The owners wont be giving £43m for a CB.

Bastoni is certainly the type of centre-back who would fit into Jurgen Klopp’s system. He is mobile, having had to play on the left-hand side of a back three, while he is still young and developing his game.
One major stumbling block will be Inter Milan who are thought to be reluctant to sell the Italian international. The Serie A side are said to be considering selling a number of players to balance the books but it remains to be seen whether they would be willing to sacrifice a promising young player.
