‘On My Knees’ ‘He Is Exactly What We Need’ Fans Back Collymore’s Comments That Liverpool Should Pursue City And United Target

Ex-Liverpool striker Stan Collymore has backed the Reds to overhaul their front three in the summer with up to four young players.

The former Reds star says that, in addition to the likes of Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, Barcelona’s Ansu Fati and AZ Alkmaar’s Myron Boadu, he thinks the Merseyside club should pursue Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish:

“LFC’s front three have won the lot and may fancy Madrid, Bayern Munich or Juventus for a new challenge. So don’t discount an overhaul being at least being whispered at LFC. [Erling] Haaland, Grealish, [Ansu] Fati, [Myron] Boadu – a couple of Dutch coaches I know love this kid – all on a list.”

Grealish has been heavily linked with Manchester City and Manchester United over the last few months, and his performances for Villa this season have certainly been impressive. Fans on Twitter would be open to the 25-year-old moving to Anfield:

To be perfectly honest, Liverpool are unlikely to have the funds to be able to finance a move for Grealish. The playmaker only signed a new contract back in September and reports suggest his asking price is above £100m.

With the Reds also unlikely to be in the Champions League, the club may be shopping for players who will cost a lot less to buy.
