“One Of The Options” David Ornstein Reveals Liverpool Are Considering Summer Swoop For Villa Star

Liverpool are interested in Aston Villa centre-back Ezri Konsa as they consider potential targets to strengthen at centre-back in the summer, according to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein.

The former BBC reporter claims the 23-year-old is “one of the options” that the Reds are looking at, but they may face competition from Tottenham, who are also keen on the defender.

Konsa has been part of a Villa defence that has conceded just 24 goals in 22 matches this season, forming a formidable partnership with England international Tyrone Mings.

The centre-half has been at Villa Park for two and a half years after signing from Brentford for £12m in 2019, and it’s likely that the Villans would demand a significant fee if they were to let him go at the end of the season.

Konsa still has two years remaining on his current contract, and it is believed that Villa may well look to offer an extension in order to ward off interest from the likes of Liverpool.
