“One To Watch…” Romano Claims Liverpool, United And Arsenal Are All Keeping Tabs On Dutch Star’s Situation

There could soon be developments on the future of Liverpool target Ryan Gravenberch, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Up until now, the Dutchman’s club, Bayern Munich, have been reluctant to sell the midfielder but Romano says a change in the makeup of the Bundesliga club’s board could lead to a change of stance:

“The current situation of Ryan Gravenberch is one to watch. Bayern didn’t want, with the past board, to negotiate with any club for Gravenberch. They told Gravenberch ‘let’s meet at the end of the season in June and discuss the future’ because Liverpool are interested but also other English clubs like Manchester United and Arsenal.”

“But Bayern message was very clear – we don’t want to negotiate for Gravenberch, we will meet Gravenberch in June and communicate that he will be an important part of the squad next season. Now, what’s happening is there is a new board that will have to make a decision.”

As Romano also mentions, Manchester United and Arsenal will be monitoring Gravenberch’s situation as well, so Liverpool may have a fight on their hands to secure the player’s signature.

The 21-year-old only joined Bayern from Ajax for an initial £16m last summer, but he has found games hard to come by under both Julian Nagelsmann and Thomas Tuchel.

Gravenberch has made 33 appearances in all competitions, but he’s been handed just three starts in the league, and he is believed to be keen on leaving the Allianz Arena to get more first-team opportunities.

Liverpool are looking to recruit a number of midfielders

In addition to Gravenberch, the Reds are said to be closing in on a deal to sign Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton.

They have also been heavily linked with Chelsea’s Mason Mount, while they have been mentioned as potential suitors for Southampton’s Romeo Lavia in recent days.
