Ornstein Confirms “Leading Premier League Club” Enquired About Signing Bayern Ace

A “leading Premier League club” recently enquired about signing Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala, according to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein.

The former BBC reporter claims an English team were too late in their bid for the German teenager as talks over a new contract with Bayern had reached an advanced stage.

Musiala was linked with Liverpool, along with Manchester United and Manchester City, in January and it’s likely that an approach was made by one of the three clubs.

The playmaker actually came through Chelsea’s academy, and he did play for England at youth level before finally deciding to play for the country of his birth.

It’s not surprising that Liverpool were keeping tabs on Musiala, with the 17-year-old having scored four goals in 26 appearances for Bayern’s first team this campaign.

His most notable contribution so far came against Lazio in the first leg of the Champions League last 16 tie last month, when he scored in a 4-1 win over the Italian club.
