Parlour Delivers Verdict On Who Will Score More Goals Between Salah And Ronaldo This Season

Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour believes that Liverpool forward Mo Salah is likely to end the season with more goals than Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Egyptian is currently one ahead of his Portuguese counterpart, having bagged five in six appearances for the Reds, and Parlour thinks he may stay out in front as he is likely to play more games:

“I think Salah might score a few more goals than Ronaldo. The only reason is that I don’t think he [Ronaldo] can play [every game]. If he does play every game, it would be an amazing achievement for a 36-year-old. But I think you’ve just got to manage him a little bit more than Salah. Salah, if he’s fit, he’s playing.”

Ronaldo only played seven fewer matches than Salah when he was playing for Juventus last season, so you can’t rule out the United forward matching the Liverpool star in terms of game time.

It will likely be a tough one to call, considering Salah’s excellent record since arriving in England, and Ronaldo’s consistency in front of goal over the last 15 years.

From Salah’s point of view, it will be a challenge the 29-year-old will relish as he aims to beat an all-time great to the Premier League Golden Boot.
