Paul Gorst Reveals Huge Transfer Blow As Agents Of 67M Target Confirm Key Decision Has Been Made

The agency representing Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni has told Liverpool that the Frenchman is holding out for a move to Real Madrid this summer, according to journalist Paul Gorst.

The Liverpool Echo reporter says that, despite claims in both France and England that the Reds have agreed personal terms with the player, he is unlikely to be moving to Anfield in the coming weeks:

Tchouameni has been linked with a number of teams in recent months, including Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain but Liverpool had seemingly moved ahead of the competition in the race for the 22-year-old’s signature.

However, it does appear that one of the consequences of Real losing out on Kylian Mbappe is that they will renew their focus on signing other players, including Tchouameni.

With Monaco holding out for a fee in the region of £67m, though, we shall have to wait and see whether the La Liga champions can stump up the cash for the midfielder.
