Phillips In, Mane Out: Liverpool’s Predicted XI To Face Southampton

A two-week break between games will have allowed manager Jurgen Klopp some time to work with his players on the training pitch ahead of Liverpool’s clash against Southampton tomorrow.

The Saints drew at home to Leicester last week, despite going down to ten men early on in the game, so Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side will be no pushovers.

In terms of team selection, Alisson will start in goal, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson playing in the fullback positions. Nat Phillips has recovered from a hamstring injury so the 24-year-old could slot in beside Ozan Kabak in the centre of defence.

That change would allow Fabinho to move forward into midfield, with Thiago Alcantara and Georginio Wijnaldum playing ahead of him.

Up front, Sadio Mane’s woeful performance against Newcastle could see him dropped, so Klopp could pick a front three comprising of Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah.

Liverpool’s Predicted XI To Play Southampton:

Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, Kabak, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Thiago, Salah, Firmino, Jota
