Playmaker FC Pundit Claims Liverpool V United Is No Longer An Elite Fixture Because Of The Red Devils’ Decline

The 1-1 draw between Liverpool and Manchester United last weekend was a strange game in some senses. The two clubs are among the biggest in the world, but the home side very much played like the underdog.

The Red Devils set up to play on the counter-attack and tried to hold on to a 1-0 lead at home, while Liverpool tried to break down a stubborn defence. It wasn’t the best spectacle, and the Manchester side’s defensive approach did not impress Jurgen Klopp following the stalemate.

This Playmaker FC pundit believes United’s decline has led to the fixture being diminished in importance. He even goes as far to say that it could even be a 3 pm kickoff on a Saturday next season:

That is a controversial take, and although it is fair to say that there is a sizeable gap in quality between the two sides at the moment, the size of each club’s fanbase means this will always be seen as a massive fixture.
