POLL: Should Liverpool Snap Up Aubameyang With The Arsenal Striker Having A Year To Go On His Contract?

Last month Paul Merson urged Liverpool to make a move for Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with the 30-year-old closing in on the final twelve months of his contract at the Emirates.

The Sky Sports pundit believes the Reds need a prolific goalscorer to push on and win more silverware next season:

“You do need someone who can bang in 25 goals without a fuss. Firmino is a top player but he can go long periods of time without scoring.”

“You still need someone who is a safety net in terms of goals and that’s what Aubameyang can provide. Liverpool also need to continue to improve. Winning trophies is hard, but coming back and winning them again is even harder.”

Aubameyang has scored twenty goals in all competitions this campaign, and with his contract running down, he has also been linked with the likes of Barcelona, Inter Milan, Chelsea and Manchester United.

So, would Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp be tempted to recruit a striker he previously worked with at Borussia Dortmund? It does seem unlikely, considering the forward’s age but there’s no doubting the player’s quality. With reports suggesting he could be available for a relatively low price as well, it does look like an intriguing proposition. Should Liverpool consider signing Aubameyang?
