Premier League Consider U Turn On Where Liverpool’s Derby Clash With Everton Will Be Played

Liverpool could yet face Everton at Goodison Park on June 20th, according to reports in the UK. Premier League clubs are currently in discussions on whether to reject proposals to play some games at neutral venues.

The national lead for football policing, Deputy Constable Mark Roberts said last week that up four of the Reds’ last nine league games could be moved, but the bottom six clubs are said to be resisting the changes as they feel it could jeopardise the integrity of the competition.

Everton are said to be willing to go with the majority of clubs and, with Liverpool likely to be keen on resisting neutral venues as well, it could mean up to eight clubs would support the Merseyside derby staying in Liverpool.

There are concerns over whether fans would gather outside of the ground if it does indeed become the match where the Reds could win the title, although it is believed that there are differing opinions inside the police force on the matter.

Premier League teams are continuing discussions this week and they are expected to make a final decision before their next meeting on Thursday.
