Ramos mocks Liverpool after reports of Karius concussion

Sergio Ramos has mocked Liverpool and the club’s fans following their reaction to injuries to both Mohamed Salah and Loris Karius in the Champions League final.

Ramos found himself as enemy number one following last month’s 3-1 victory in Kiev after being involved in controversial incidents with both Salah and Karius.

The Spaniard was first involved in a tangle with Salah, which resulted in the Reds star man going off with what turned out to be a dislocated shoulder. And soon after Ramos was seen by cameras clashing with Karius off-the ball from a corner, with a now being reported the German had suffered a concussion as a result of the coming together.

Ramos received backlash from Liverpool fans, and even had a petition started to see him face retrospective action from UEFA and even a lawsuit, which reached an astonishing 500,000 signatures.

The 32-year-olds reaction? Un-phased.

In an interview with Spanish sports daily AS, Ramos was asked about the reaction to Salah’s injury, and responded: “Bloody hell, they’ve given this a lot of attention, the Salah thing.

“I didn’t want to speak because everything is magnified. I see the play well, he grabs my arm first and I fell to the other side, the injury happened to the other arm and they said that I gave him a judo hold.

“After the goalkeeper said that I dazed him with a clash with me I am only missing Firmino saying that he got a cold because a drop of my sweat.”

Ramos went on to reveal he had spoken to Salah on numerous occasions since last month’s final, and says the Egyptian – who had feared he would miss the World Cup as a consequence of his injury – has no hard feelings over the incident.

“I spoke with Salah through messages he was quite good. He could have played if he got an injection for the second half, I have done it sometimes but when Ramos does something like this, it sticks a little bit more.

“I don’t know if it’s because you’re at Madrid for so long and win for so long that people look at it a different way.”
