Liverpool face a trip to Germany to play against RB Leipzig in the Champions League as they look to make it three from three in the competition.
Arne Slot’s side come off the back of an impressive 2-1 win over Chelsea in the Premier League at Anfield where goals from Mo Salah and Curtis Jones were enough to hand the Reds three points.
Chelsea were able to score one goal through striker Nicolas Jackson, but it wasn’t enough and it gives Liverpool the top spot in the Premier League table.
They sit just one point ahead of reigning Premier League champions Manchester City whereas challengers Arsenal dropped points in a 2-0 defeat at Bournemouth.
Liverpool have won both their opening Champions League games so far with the most recent being a 2-0 win over Bologna before the international break.
However, for all the good news, the Reds will be without goalkeeper Alisson who remains out with a hamstring injury. Diogo Jota and Harvey Elliot are also expected to miss the game as they won’t have recovered from injury in time.
Darwin Nunez will likely come in for Jota up front who has been impressive so far this season, scoring two goals and two assists in the Premier League so far this season. Click here to see our predicted XI for Arne Slot’s side on Wednesday night.
Liverpool cautiously backed to get away win at Leipzig
The Reds’ recent form makes them favourite for the clash, but heading on a trip to a hostile Red Bull Arena won’t make the game an easy one for Arne Slot’s team.
According to Oddschecker, Liverpool are 1/1 favourites to win the game which gives them a 50% chance of victory for the third Champions League game in a row. Leipzig are backed at 14/5 (26.3%) and a draw is backed at 3/1 (25%).
We predict a 2-1 win for the Reds as they do earn their third win and would likely remain as one of few Champions League teams to sit on nine points after three matches.
