Report Claims Klopp ‘Has Designs’ On Securing Sensational Deal For France World Cup Winner

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has not given up hope on signing Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe despite the French World Cup winner’s “strong desire” to play for Real Madrid, according to AS.

The Spanish publication claims Klopp “has designs” on luring the 21-year-old to Anfield but he is aware that Real are in the driving seat with the striker putting plans in place to move to Spain next summer.

Mbappe has less than two years remaining on his contract at PSG and he has already turned down a new five-year deal reportedly worth €150m. A move to the Bernabeu is his preference and he has even employed a sports lawyer in Delphine Verheyden to try and make it happen.

Liverpool and Real Madrid are not the only teams keen on the Frenchman, though, with Barcelona also likely to make a move if presidential candidate Victor Font is elected. However, it is thought that the presence of Zinedine Zidane at Real will prove the deciding factor in him moving to the La Liga champions.
