Report Claims Liverpool Are Willing To Go ‘Crazy’ To Sign 69M Rated Italian Who Is ‘Highly Esteemed By Klopp’

Liverpool are considering whether to make a “crazy” offer for Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella, according to InterLive.it.

The website claims that the 25-year-old is “highly esteemed by Klopp” and the Reds are “serious” about reinforcing their first-team squad with the Italian international.

Inter have been determined to keep hold of their players this summer. Barella was mentioned (along with Alessandro Bastoni, Denzel Dumfries and Milan Skriniar) as a potential makeweight in negotiations for Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku, but they weren’t willing to let him go.

However, InterLive.it report that the Serie A side may consider selling Barella but only if a team matches their €80m (£68m) to €90m (£77m) asking price.

Whether Liverpool are prepared to table such an offer for the Italian, it remains to be seen. The English press believe the Reds are likely to wait until next summer before signing a midfielder, with Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham set to become available then, but the chance to snap up Barella may be too good to pass up.
