Report Claims Liverpool ‘Expect’ To Seal Move For 101M Rated Bundesliga Star ‘Next Summer’

Anfield Stadium

Liverpool “expect” to snap up Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham “next summer” according to the Daily Mail.

The Reds have been looking at bringing in a player to strengthen the club’s midfield options before the transfer window closes but manager Jurgen Klopp believes there is no one available who is worth signing.

It means the Merseyside club are likely to remain patient before making their move for Bellingham, even if it causes them problems in the short to medium term.

They are already short of numbers in midfield due to the injuries picked up by Thiago and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and, with Naby Keita said to be angling for a move away from Anfield, the situation is rather difficult.

At the moment, it is felt that Keita will remain with Liverpool this season, even if it leads to him leaving on a free transfer when his contract expires in June. Keeping the Guinean around as an extra body will mean the Reds won’t be forced into the market this month. They can then look to sign Bellingham (who could cost €120m/£101m) next year.

The teenager is, however, also being pursued by the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United so, even if they do wait, there is no guarantee that Jurgen Klopp’s side will get their man.
