REPORT: Liverpool Ace To Be Offered Two Year Contract Extension To Ward Off Potential £132m Approach

Liverpool will offer Sadio Mane a two-year contract extension in order to prevent him from leaving for Real Madrid, according to Eurocalciomercato.net.

The Italian website claims the Reds are concerned that the Senegalese international could be tempted by a move to Spain and they are prepared to give the forward improved terms to keep him at Anfield.

Reports in the Spanish media have suggested that Real boss Zinedine Zidane is a big fan of Mane and that the La Liga side could be planning a €150m (£132m) bid for the 28-year-old.

The player is said to have not closed a door on a switch to the Bernabeu but if he does sign a new deal at Liverpool, keeping him in England until 2025, it would stop any speculation about his potential departure.

Mane is a key player in manager Jurgen Klopp’s eyes with the German recently saying that he says no reason to make changes to the forward line in the immediate future:

“Sadio Mane is young enough and Mo Salah is young enough to be in that group for the next few years. I am completely happy with the boys that I have.”
