REPORT: Liverpool ‘Agree Terms’ With Midfield Transfer Target

Liverpool have reportedly agreed personal terms with OGC Nice for the transfer of highly-rated midfielder Khephren Thuram, according to a report from FootballTransfers.

While Liverpool have yet to agree to a fee for the 22-year-old, talks are understood to be underway. A deal has been agreed ‘in principle’, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

Liverpool have already signed one midfielder in the summer transfer window, as they snapped up former Brighton player and 2023 World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister. Could Thuram be the next addition to Liverpool’s new-look midfield?

Who else, besides Liverpool, is interested in Khephren Thuram?

While Liverpool are the first team to reportedly agree terms with the French midfielder, they are not the only ones who are interested in signing him up in the summer.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle United are all also believed to keen on a transfer for the player – nevertheless, the Reds remain in pole position to complete a transfer and bolster their ranks in the middle of the park.

Khephren Thuram career summary

Thuram is the son of legendary French defender Lilian Thuram, who won the World Cup, two Serie A titles and the European Championships over the course of his illustrious footballing career.

Born in 2001 in Italy, Thuram joined his first youth academy, Olympique de Neuilly, when he was just six years old. A three-year spell with Boulogne-Billancourt eventually led to him being headhunted by Monaco, who he joined in 2016.

He went on to make his professional debut for the club in 2018 at the age of 17. His gametime at Monaco was limited – in 2019, he went on to join Nice. He has made 114 appearances for Les Aiglons since then, scoring eight goals.

This year, Thuram received his first senior French cap in March. Previously, he had featured for Les Bleus at several youth levels.
