REPORT: Liverpool And Arsenal Both Keen On Signing Portuguese Youth International

Anfield Stadium

Liverpool and Arsenal are both interested in signing Belenenses goalkeeper Ricardo van der Laan, according to the Football Insider.

The website claims the two teams have been scouting the 17-year-old who impressed at Under 23 level last season.

Van der Laan is already a Portuguese Under 18 international, and he is expected to make his senior debut for his club in the not too distant future.

The teenager also has just one year left on his contract with Belenenses so he will be available for a relatively low fee this summer.

With Caoimhin Kelleher expected to be loaned out for the new campaign in order to get more first-team experience, the Reds do need to find another potential third-choice keeper.

Kamil Grabara may well get that job after he returned from his loan spell at Huddersfield but van der Laan could add more competition behind undisputed number one Alisson Becker and second choice Adrian.
