REPORT: Liverpool And Arsenal The ‘Best Positioned’ To Secure 46M Rated Ligue One Marksman

Liverpool and Arsenal are the two teams “best positioned” to sign Lille forward Jonathan David, according to Le10 Sport.

The French magazine, which isn’t always that reliable when it comes to transfer stories, claims that David is “seriously considering his departure” at the end of the season.

While Liverpool are “ready” to make a move for the Canadian international, he is also a priority target for the Gunners, who are expected to lose both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah when their contracts expire in June.

In contrast, the Reds already have a whole host of options up front, including Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino. Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and January signing Luis Diaz.

However, with the likes of Mane, Firmino and Salah having just one year remaining on their current deals, there is the prospect of one or more leaving this summer, so that could be why they are keeping tabs on David.

It has been reported that Lille have placed a €55m (£46m) price tag on the 22-year-old and it remains to be seen who will make the first move for the player.
