REPORT: Liverpool Consider Resurrecting Move For 88M Rated La Liga Star Just A Year After Losing Transfer Battle

Aurelien Tchouameni

Liverpool could reignite their interest in Aurelien Tchouameni at the end of the season, according to The Mirror.

The English tabloid claims that, just a year after losing out to Real Madrid for the France international, the midfielder could be back on the market.

Tchouameni has struggled to settle in during his first season at the Bernabeu, and he is currently not among Carlo Ancelotti’s first-choice midfield three, with Eduardo Camavinga having been favoured in the big games.

The Mirror report that the La Liga club may consider selling the 23-year-old if they receive an offer similar to the €100m (£88m) they paid Monaco for the player last summer.

Considering Real worked hard, not only to beat Liverpool but also Chelsea, to Tchouameni’s signature, it would be a surprising development if he is allowed to leave. However, they may require extra funding to snap up Jude Bellingham so we shall see if that plays into the Reds’ hands.
