Liverpool are battling AC Milan for Anderlecht winger Jeremy Doku, according to Ghanasoccernet. The website claims that the Rossoneri are indeed interested in signing the 17-year-old with the Italian club looking to sign younger players this summer.
The Belgian Under 21 international was initially linked with a move to Anfield in the Belgian media earlier this month, and it looks as though the Merseyside club will have a fight on their hands to secure the teenager’s signature.
Anderlecht are said to be prepared to let Doku leave for around €20m (£17.6m) as they look to raise funds amid the ongoing global health crisis. The Belgian side have reportedly already asked their players to take a wage cut with football games having been suspended for an indefinite period.
Prior to the enforced break, Doku had had a breakthrough season playing under Vincent Kompany, having scored four goals and contributed three assists in 24 games for Anderlecht.
