REPORT: Liverpool Have ‘Already Started’ Negotiations For Brazilian With £64m Release Clause

Anfield Stadium

Liverpool have “already started” negotiations over the signing of Sevilla defender Diego Carlos, according to El Desmarques. The Spanish website claims the player is a target for manager Jurgen Klopp.

The centre-back only moved to Spain from Nantes for €15m last July, but his release clause is reportedly €75m (£64m) which the Reds are said to be willing to pay.

Carlos has certainly impressed this season for Sevilla, having helped the La Liga club to third in the table, but the Brazilian is hardly that young at 26 years of age.

Liverpool have shelled out big on a centre-half before in Virgil van Dijk, but it would be a surprise if the Merseyside club would spend so much on someone who is untested in the Premier League.

Carlos has not even been capped by Brazil, and while the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City have also been linked with the player, he is not exactly a player with a big reputation.
