REPORT: Liverpool Hold ‘Concrete’ Interest In Brazilian Speedster

Liverpool hold a “concrete” interest in Ajax winger David Neres, according to Calciomercato.com. The Italian website suggests a switch to the Premier League could be a possibility.

The Brazilian international was linked with a move to the Reds back in July, along with Atletico Madrid, Manchester United and Everton, following an excellent season in Holland.

Neres scored 12 goals and contributed 15 assists in 50 games for Ajax last campaign, but it must be said that his form has dropped off since then.

The 22-year-old has only hit the back of the net twice this season and has had to settle for a place on the bench in a number of league games already.

Neres prefers to play from the right flank, cutting in onto his favoured left-foot, and would, therefore, be seen as competition for Mo Salah.

Liverpool opted against signing another forward after letting Daniel Sturridge leave on a free transfer in the summer, and it remains to be seen if Neres is a genuine target to improve the frontline.
